I phone Showcase of Citrus to see if we could book a tour - I had purchased a voucher from Groupon for this a couple of months ago. We chose the 2pm slot for this afternoon. It was only about a 15 minute drive up the US27 from the villa, so we got there about 1.30 and booked in. We had a look around the shop. Unfortunately we are a bit out of season for the pick your own, shame as Keith and I quite fancies picking our own grapefruit and oranges (apparently best time of year is November ish! Oh well - we'll have to come again).
Anyway we boarded our converted school bus and set off for our tour round the orange groves and farm land they own. We didn't get to see much of the wildlife, altho Keith and Stephen saw a turtle (there are supposed to be alligators, otters and wild hogs around somewhere!). They did have some buffalo which are guide bought close to the bus with some food, and a few birds. There were quite a lot of flies around tho which Stephen didn't like. All in all a nice little tour and well worth the money we paid. The guide was excellent - funny and enthusiastic.
After the tour we again decided to head for the Premium Outlet and again gave up when we couldn't get parked!! absolutely heaving with people fighting for parking spaces :(
We stopped at the Flea Market on 192 for Sarah, then headed to Longhorn Steak House for dinner (another Dibb recommendation). Another great choice. Took dessert home! Another swim for Stephen then dessert, 1 dessert easily enough for 4 people, and some tv for Keith (american football/baseball).
Weather at the moment is heavy rain and thunder - this has been a bit of a theme this week, haven't had a day without some showers and a good storm or two! Doesn't seem to make much difference to the temperature or humidity tho.
Early bed tonight - busy day tomorrow, off to Universal - might be a while til next update as we are staying at onsite hotel tomorrow night.
